here's a recap of my weekend:
-saturday: woke up early to drive my aunt to the airport. then went out to stony brook to visit my brother with my family. we all went out to lunch at red lobster. i had this amazing dessert: it was a giant chocolate chip cookie that was warmed up with hot fudge inside and a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. how awesome is that?! when we went back to bro's dorm i helped him move some stuff out- i finally got my mini fridge back [except it smells like beer and nasty old food :( ]. i got to get a large iced coffee on the way home which made me happy- its sad that such small things can make me happy lol. i spent the rest of the day studying for my physio psych test.
-sunday: woke up early and went babysitting for a family that i haven't seen in a while. i found out that the mom is pregnant! i'm so excited! i can't wait til the baby is born, which will be in september! I love little babies and hopefully i'll still get to babysit when he/she is born. i babysat for most of the day then came home and now here i am procrastinating studying for physio psych again. tomorrow is my last final of the semester!
countdown to vacation: five days!
yesterday was my first day back to school. i had taken three classes over the summer (which i got a 3.8 gpa during) but they don't feel the same as real classes during a real semester. on tuesday i had three classes: abnormal psychology, intro to philosophy, and cognitive psychology. they all seem like really interesting classes and i like my professors so far. the only thing that sucks is that i do not have any breaks during the day on tuesdays and thursdays. instead i just went to school early so that i got there at like 10:15 and then just had an early lunch with my bro. he likes it a lot dorming there which is good. but i have already been replaced as a friend by his new friends at stony brook. he doesn't need me any more :( except to bring him things. but anyway i like having a regular schedule again and i like being at school even if no one really talks to me. too bad school comes with homework which i have tons of might i add.
my brother left for college today. my family and i took him out to school (which isn't too far away) this morning. after a crazy and crowded adventure in an off loading spot we had all his crap out of the car and on the side of the road in the dirt. we had to wait for him to check in which took an awful amount of time while me my mom and dad had to watch his stuff. after about what felt like a half hour of waiting he came out and we started to lug the absurd amount of stuff up to his room which only amounted to about four trips i think. the only crappy part was walking up two flights of stairs and having to open the door when everyone's hands were full. his room is pretty nice i think. a little crowded because he is tripled but i think it still is nice. it has a nice common room with three sofas and a tv and xbox! (i'm a little jealous of the xbox). i got to meet his two other roommates in his bedroom who both were really nice. we haven't met the other four people in his suite. but after a free family bbq we had to leave. it was a little sad leaving my bro behind because now i'm the only child at home. but i get to see him at school so it won't be too bad, i'll probably end up seeing him on tuesday on our first day of school.
here are some pictures of his going away dinner last night:
here's chris at his actual graduation ceremony.
yesterday was the first of a series of graduation parties/events for my brother, the almost high school graduate. he is "almost" a graduate because he hasn't actually graduated yet, but he will this afternoon. last night, my dad's side of the family came over to celebrate chris' graduation...nothing too big, about 12 people. it was fun, we played washers (a game that involves throwing washers at a box that has a coffee can screwed to it in case you never heard of it), and talked, and that kind of family gathering stuff you do. Chris of course got mucho dinero but that's par for the course. After everyone left, my and chris headed to barns and noble for a little while. when we got home it was about quarter to 11 and so we watched an episode of deadliest catch.
now today is the actual graduation ceremony. so not looking forward to it but you gotta do what you gotta do. at least it's not crazy hot out like it was on my graduation day. baking on the foot ball field in 90 degree weather wearing a polyester bag is no fun.

Well, my brother, who is younger than me mind you, used to beat the crap out of me as a child. He was a little devil. I remember once he put a lollipop in my hair which then needed to be cut out. He chewed a whole pack of gum and stuck all of the gum pieces on my doorknob which was gross. And he would bite and scratch and kick and punch and pull my hair as well as my friends. I felt bad for my friends whenever they came over. He was scary back then, now I just laugh.
