I just came back from spending money at the mall. I have to stop spending so much money! I have a car bill to pay that isn't going to be cheap so I really need to save....but I couldn't help myself from buying two outfits for this weekend's parties and a new pair of sandals (they were on sale!). Here's what I got:
- Do you have any pets now? Yup, I have one regular cat, named Buddy who is going to be ten at the end of the month and two ragdoll cats who are about one and a half. Their names are Jack and Bailey (brother and sister).
- Did you have pets growing up? I had a couple of cats that I don't remember but I do know that I named them all Max. And something always happened to every one of my little Maxies. One died after a week from some illness and I know another one ran away. We still have the footprints of the one that ran away on my basement floor because he stepped in wet white paint.
- Out of all the pets you've ever had, who was your favorite? I would feel bad to say I have a favorite. I love them all for each of their different personalities. Buddy has a second sense for me, he always comes to me when I am sad or sick. Jack has the personality of a person, he's hilarious. And Bailey because she is quite and very independent but she becomes mush when she learns to trust you. She kind of reminds me of myself.
- Are you a dog or cat person? I am both. I love mostly all animals (except some monkeys, which I am afraid of lol) I love cats more probably because I have them myself and they aren't as scary as dogs can be. I get afraid of dogs I don't know because they can bite and tear your face off if they are dangerous. But really I do love them because we know the odds of that happening are like none. It just takes me longer to warm up to dogs I don't know because I am not as used to dogs.
- Let's see a furry creature.
I forgot to update about my cat Bailey and her surgery. She had the surgery and everything is fine now! The doctor said that there was some ovarian tissue in her. The weird thing was that it was located up near her spleen instead of where it normally would have been. The vet called it ectopic ovarian tissue. I was happy to hear this because I had made the right diagnosis! It made me feel like I would be a good doctor one day (though this is only one time I diagnosed a patient and was right!). I had done all of this research and actually convinced my mom that this was what was causing my cat to act like she was in heat despite the fact that she was spayed when she was little. My cat was misbehaving so much that my mom wanted to get rid of her. I couldn't let that happen because I love my cat. I would have been devastated. So I did a lot of research and convinced my mom to go get the surgery, which the vet really didn't push on us at all when we took her a few times about the problem.
Apparently this ectopic ovarian tissue is very rare, my vet had only seen it four or five times in his twenty years of practicing. He even sent the tissue out to be biopsied (which I had no idea he did) and it confirmed that it was the ovarian tissue. I was right! I knew I was right all along.
Well now my cat is much better and she is back to normal. I felt so bad when she came home from the surgery. She couldn't walk straight because she was still loopy from the anesthetic. She kept meowing in pain and hid under my bed. She didn't eat or drink or go to the bathroom for almost two days. She didn't walk around and just wanted to be left alone. She was sooo skinny too. I felt horrible, like it was my fault because I wanted her to have the surgery, but now it's all better!
Here's a random pic of my other cat Buddy. It's random but I really liked this pic when I just uploaded it a few minutes.
What are your resolutions for 2007?
I don't really have any resolutions, instead I just have a to-do list of things that I would like to do next year but it's not the end of the world if I don't.
I want to....
1. stop chewing on my lips/inside of my mouth
2. be nicer to people
3. care more about other people instead of myself
4. exercise some more (more than the 0 minutes I already do)
5. eat healthier (but not too much lol)
6. stop getting road-rage and walking-rage when people drive like idiots or too slowly and when people walk like idiots or too slowly
7. get a 3.5 overall GPA
8. try to hang out with my friends more
9. read more
10. change my contacts every two weeks instead of when they feel like they are getting old
11. spend less money
12. pay off my credit card bill

Tomorrow my little girl cat Bailey is having surgery. She is having exploratory surgery to see if the vet left a piece of her ovary inside of her when she was spayed. This would explain why she goes into heat every month. I'm nervous because I hear all of those horror stories like the one that goes "I took my cat to get routine surgery on ____ and she didn't make it through." I know this is routine surgery, basically she is getting spayed again, but I'm still nervous. I would feel so bad if she died during the surgery because I am the one that pushed for her to get the surgery in the first place. Let's hope all goes well!
